Did you know in Canada we can buy tylenol with codeine over the counter without a prescription?

An unreported rape
would be considered to be consensual.

You're going to incur a lot of wrath with this approach. There are many women who are raped who are too ashamed or afraid to report it right away. Perhaps she was raped by a date, but wasn't willing to report it and get the date thrown in jail (this does happen with students--a student will not be willing to destroy a fellow student's career and life). Perhaps she was afraid of the person, it was a neighbor who threatened to come over and kill her if she reported it. Perhaps she just wanted to go home and crawl in a hole and forget about it and not have to go through the humiliation of a hospital exam and testifying at trial and all that. There are many reasons, all good to the woman, why she would not report the rape at the time it happened, but when she found she was pregnant couldn't stand to carry the child to term.

Of course I'm arguing a position I don't agree with, because I agree with you that if the unborn baby really is an innocent life, you don't destroy it just because something terrible happened to its mother. I liked your comparison of it as one of the aspects of recovery, like broken bones healing or trauma being dissipated by therapy. And there could be an added penalty for men who get women pregnant during rape -- sentence enhancement -- just as breaking their bones would be a sentence enhancement or threatening them with a weapon.
