Karen,
Adlai Stevenson was then at the liberal end of the Democratic party and our UN ambassador. JFK who was philosphically akin to Joe Lieberman and Bobby whose temprement didnt lead him to be an Adlai supporter either, were both extremely pleased at Stevensons performance at the UN. It was genuine and the fact that he was a liberal did not interfere with FP at all. He believed in the policy of the admin. It was his greatest moment and thats his interpetation. I wish there was a CMC alternative to war in iraq. Perhaps a blockade of camel traffic in the desert inspecting for wmds?? Mike
PS Yes karen, i am the old and was watching.
