He, as all conservatives, is ignoring the fact that there is tremendous uproar not only abroad, but here in the US as well, for Bush to take a breath and think carefully about this war.

Bush has been thinking carefully about this war for at least a year.

However, please cut conservatives some slack. Many don't feel it is appropriate to give foreign countries quite as much weight as liberals do. Lots of us feel that what other countries think is, frankly, secondary at best and perhaps totally irrelevent.

There does appear to be considerable support for the war in Iraq within America. It's like anything else -- turn loose the liberal politicians, allow the public to be manipulated by a liberal media, and they soon don't understand the facts. But when you pin them down, with a reasonable question, they come around. Polls are almost useless for this reason.

You seem to have understood what Harris said up above........

His english was not very clear, but I kind of guessed that he was suggesting that all my posts come from liberal publications. He, as all conservatives, is ignoring the fact that there is tremendous uproar not only abroad, but here in the US as well, for Bush to take a breath and think carefully about this war.

Al, you need to read Le Carre again. The neocons don't care what Europe or anyone else thinks........they're doing God's work. Today, Rumsfield said Germany and France are "Old Europe" and that the real power has shifted east....presumably to Bulgaria and Rumania?!! That was his response when asked if he was concerned with what G. and F. were saying about the Iraqi war. No one will stand in their way.

Our mainstream media aka the liberal media has let us down; they too got intimidated by this White House. Only now are they starting to wake up to what's going on.......the devil is in the details.

What was particularly telling was C. Powell's comments re stopping the inspections; that was part of the game to scare Saddam but it also shows the inspections hold no weight at all in their considerations. Times awasting and they want this war to start.
