You're correct, Maurice. The US acts only in its own interest. Saving the world as it does so is merely an amazing and fortuitious by-product. That's how great we are.

Maurice, I may have misread the post i replied to. Am too tired to review. I read this one with great interest. You write with style and panache. I find some of it difficult to grasp but i will try. I will have that cup of tea and lie down. One day i will try to answer your note. No, after a quick reread, i will pass. i dont understand much of it. There is an incoherence about it thats troublesome to a simple uneducated yank, but it is well written. Pulitzer material. MIke
