In light of the fact that they have money and are well-connected, the Bush family is probably the mother lode when it comes to conspiranoia. There's the old Robber Baron meme, the Nazi Sympathizer meme, the Skull and Bones meme, the Illuminati meme, the New World Order meme, the CIA meme, the Big Oil meme. You name it, and you can blame it on the Bush family. Trilateral Commission, Bilderbergers, Enron, Carlyle Group, just let your fantasies run wild. Class warfare, envy, the Bush family just sets people's teeth on edge with hatred. If you or I have a lackluster few months in our resumes in our early twenties, we were slacking off. If Dubya did it, he's having lost weekends in Colombia, snorting coke and running guns. Hey, he can't prove otherwise, can he? And if he does, surely the evidence was manufactured. I assume you are already familiar with the Muslim fantasy world about the world Zionist conspiracy -- not at all dissimilar to Hitler's fantasies about Jews. But juice it up with Iraq, and then here comes the twist you probably weren't expecting -- all the ex-military that want to climb on the fictitious Gulf War Syndrome gravy train. That's the biggest undercurrent that doesn't come to the surface very often but it's huge. Uncle Sugar is the real mother lode when it comes to big payoffs, and there are millions of people constantly angling for that payday. I am a trial lawyer so I know the drill. Self respect goes out the window when there's a deep pocket to be scored. Here's the syllogism: 1. If we can prove that we got sick from stuff we were exposed to in Iraq; AND 2. If we can prove that the US is really to blame for what we were exposed to in Iraq; THEN 3. We can make Uncle Sugar pay, big time. Conspiranoia and a potentially very deep pocket makes for very strange factual allegations.
