Ted, <I thought the guy was hilarious......>

Oh, I'm not talking about Mr. Fly-By-Night Asian pop star ... ;-)

I'm talking about the show itself and how manufactured the pop music industry is today. OK, it's lighthearted fun, but sometimes I wonder if Simon is the perfect characature of music execs ...

Yes, you are abslutely right. And the film industry is the same way as the music industry. On American Idol, there are times when they see people and tell them they have a good voice but they don't have "the look".....that means they're not a hottie, or they tell them they don't know how to dress. What I learned in LA, very few of the people who were to find the next stars rarely new what to look for in terms of talent. So they look for what they know and like......."I am looking for a brad pitt and a julia roberts for my new film".

Its gross........most people think Simon is acting out to make the program more interesting. Wrong...that's the way Hollywood is.

BTW I now know whom Michael Jackson is trying to look like.......Paula Abdul. I am so grossed out by Jackson that I can't stand to look at Abdul now. <g>
