I think you are wrong and that the gold shares simply reflect the massive propaganda that this is all Iraq -- so there is much doubt that the POG rise will stick -- when the real uncertainty shows itself -- we find out it isn't just about going in there and kicking their a$$es -- the shares will follow the metal. SI is full of people selling the golds -- it is even probably moreso with the public. At some pt it will even show up in your Rydex numbers, I think.

Be careful with tech -- fundamentals are horrible and getting ready to reassert themselves with a vengance -- seriously.

I see gold is up tonight, but gold stocks have been diverging<<<

the stocks have been diverging since gold broke out to new highs in mid-december, during the bear market in gold stocks this was a sure sign of a trend change, however the gold stocks have rallied a lot, it's possible that the relationship could change, and gold will outperform gold stocks for a period of time, and still retain the bullish perspective for the gold market, i soured on gold at the end of last year, but have sweetened up to them the last couple of days.

the interesting thing about gold stocks here is that the huge bear market turned these suckers lean and mean.

after todays rise in gold, we are only 30-40 bucks fromt the 90's high

at that time the xau was selling at almost double what it is now, it's possible that the xau/gold ratio got out of whack on the upside into the june top, now the xau/gold ratio is getting more fair valued or undervalued.

the failure of the averages at resistance and break of support keeps da bears in the odds for a 4peat.
