Yup. I say let the guy say what he wants. Then we get to say what we want. If we can convince folks to shun or punish him, then we win. But unless the guy says some really weird mess, don't go using dang "government," whether federal or here on SI, to "kill" a guy for saying his dang piece.

There's a main street in Oakland, CA which used to be called (I believe) Martin Luther King Boulevard where drug dealers and gang bangers hung out and robbed anything that stood still and killed each other. It had a BAD rep.

The Oakland city council convinced itself that a name change would cure the problem. Just rename it, all the bad guys would lose track of it, and voila! everything would be wonderful.

At a cost of hundreds of thousands, they renamed it International Boulevard.

Now International Boulevard has a bad rep. And drug dealers and gang bangers hang out there and rob anything that stands still and kill each other.
