btw, its 3 below zero here in Chicago and the wind chill is down to around 23 below....

Boy, do I remember those winds off Lake Michigan. We lived in Chicago from the summer of 63 to the summer of 69, a large portion of which was spent in grad school. I still remember walking across the Northwestern campus one morning in January, headed to class, wearing my basic winter wear from Texas (though I left Texas some 6 or 7 years before) of a raincoat with a lining. By the time I got to class, numb would be a warm term to describe me. I have never been so cold.

I also remember something like a week in which the temperature refused to get about 0.

Oh, those winds off the lake.

this morning it was 0 degrees when I arrived at the rink. You know it's cold when the inside of the rink is warmer than outdoors.
