As you know, X, I find the sort of speech that jla used in his post offensive as well. And I object to people throwing the word "queer" around here as a means of provoking Jeff. However, given the increase in tension all around SI--probably due to impending military action in Iraq-- that kind of speech has become commonplace on the political threads. I think it would be wise for Jeff to clarify what kind of speech constitutes a TOU violation and enforce it evenly from here on in.
