Dont get me wrong John, I am rooting for your outcome. I was just pointing out some difficulties. Job 1 though is to prevent the expansion of saddams kind of tyranny thru the region. That aligns itself also to a more democratic outcome. The Japanese example is a great one but remember they were thoroughly defeated and occupied and under control. Iraq when defeated could be a little like afganistan and american occupiers probably wont be as popular as in post war japan given mideast and religious issues, not to mention Islamic fundamentalists. mike
