just put 3% down the article is right. you have to pay somebody something to live somewhere, and if someone is dumb enough to let you play with their money and not require you to have any skin in the game, then by god you owe it to yourself to take the risk. what have you got to lose? if housing tanks, it's not your money you've lost, and your credit rating won't be any worse than that of 150 million other americans who are in the exact same position.
