I would question the accuracy of the yahoo float #'s. In fact I'd say there's about 0% chance those #'s are correct. The total # of shares short is probably correct as that can be verified by other sites and it seems reasonable. I'd look at days to cover. Around 3 days to cover is not that much.

It looks like gold shares would be doing far better if there were no threat of an Iraq war. Too many believe that is the only reason we are rallying I guess. Either way just makes the gold shares more of a long term hold vs a trade.

BSG, where did you get January short interest for NEM? Starting a few months ago NYSE asks $400 per month for this data.
