Software Could Surge on Corporate Spending
Thursday January 23, 2:30 pm ET

By James J. Cramer,

Wouldn't it be something if 2003 was the year of the enterprise in the way that 2002 was the year of the consumer?

Last year, enterprise was a disaster. Companies simply stopped spending. But the consumer spent big, so the Best Buys (NYSE:BBY - News) and the Dells (NasdaqNM:DELL - News) did well.

Now it looks like a reverse. I have Craig Conway from PeopleSoft (NasdaqNM:PSFT - News) on "Kudlow & Cramer" tonight and I am amazed at how nicely supply chain management and customer retention software spiked. Human resources software jumped up too. These are big, big tickets, and it's a nice change, especially given what we expected.
