Good friggin question. I've been asking myself that for years. Some of my answers: ...building character. ...biding time before I actually put a little effort into writing a book. ...paying the bills. Or at least most of them... I'm an electrical contractor in NY City. I'd rather be a writer from the suburbs but haven't found the guts to chase that dream. Too fuggin lazy, I guess. I should read a few more books and figure out how they do that formula where the chapters get weaved together and the ending part comes and totally blows your mind.
