Ya gotta love the NY Post Headline of the French/German pullout.

The French have never been there when the chips are really down.

As the nuclear cold war really heated up after the Berlin wall was erected in Aug 61, and the Cuban missile crisis in Oct 62, a fearful France tossed NATO HQ out of Paris in 64 or 65.

And of course we all know about the big French Army victories of, WWI WWII, and Dinh Bin Phu.

I do not believe anyone really cares about French participation. I doubt any of our military commanders are excited about having a French unit protecting their flank.

The Germans prefer to be the initiator. They did not start this one so they don't want to play.

Give either country a 9/11 and they will volunteer to be point man.
