If you are talking about something more specific you should be clear that you are not for a general change in the status for suicide.

Sorry if I'm not being clear. I'm doing two things at once.

I'm arguing for suicide being legal in all cases simply on principle, that this most basic of human freedoms should not be constrained by the government.

In particular, and as a practical matter, I'm concerned about those who do suffer and want to cross over but who, due to disability, do not have the wherewithal to do it themselves. For others who want to die, they can do it themselves whether it's legal or not so there's no practical problem. I think the best way to fix that would to get the government out of suicide altogether, but I'd settle for some legal changes that would enable assisted suicide.

I'm alternately arguing the principle and the practical issue so I can understand how that might seem muddled.
