I made a play on the storage sector last month buying EMC. IT can avoid new computer upgrades, but storage is an unavoidable purchase - no matter how much effort one puts into telling users to clean up they always have some reason they can't.

Eric, I don't know enough about EMC to say to much but its margins have deteriorated and the word is its losing business to competitors. But, of course, its your call.

I'll look into WDC, but the history of those drive manufacturers is pretty spotty, seems like one pulls ahead for a time to be taken over by the other six months later with a new product launch.

There has been considerable consolidation in the disk drive industry, inventory is down, and WDC's Gross Margin was at 19% this quarter, up from 13% last quarter and 5% for the past 5 years. Things are changing dramatically for the industry but again, its your call. In the meantime, this AM, WDC's price target was upgraded to double digits.
