BTW, please tell us how much of the budget deficit is due to the "stock market collapse".

Gray Davis said 30% of California taxes came from capital gains on the Kudlow and Cramer show, thats where I am getting that. He all but said the stock market crash destroyed California. No fan of Davis here (I think he should be impeached LOL) but what he says is true.

All agree that a market decline was inevitable. The question is whether Bush's judgement regarding the economy has been the best it can be under the circumstances of this decline. That answer imo is no. You don't start wars in the middle of a bubble collapse unless it is *absolutely necessary* even if as you say this is just some sort of scare tactic to get rid of Saddam. The objective should have been to work our way out of this bubble as cleanly as possible.

Who here thinks this Iraq thing could have waited another year? This economy is toast, extremely bad judgement.
