I agree and find this type of conspiracy talk unwarranted. I agree with FL on this 100%. Foreign affairs is so complex that it becomes much easier to explain away with conspiracy theories rather than difficult analysis. The latest CNN headlines now talk about bush giving UN more time and the nuke inspectors giving saddam a solid B for cooperation. Market down almost 250 now. With story upon story with contradictory messages and war looming we risk another try for recession as corps sit on their and refuse to spend, as the dollar sinks lower and lower etc etc. I am not a happy camper today. mike

Almost Impossible to do, but we have no choice but to try That's the point - consider the heretical notion that if we pull dollars and military out, they will fight among themselves, into exhaustion and reconciliation to an extent beyond anything we can militarily force upon them. American culture and business forces are irresistably suited to the complexities of foreign societies, and do things the military can't possibly do. The "conspiracy" issues you previously referenced are secondary, and involve organizational disease spawned by overuse of self-perpetuating and secretive military. Were this level of secrecy removed, FP would change dramatically.
