I think you are right. I read a seemingly well-informed article that said many of the ships transporting thousands of marines will not be in the area until the first week of next month. I can't locate the source now, but if I do, I'll send it to you as it had a few other interesting observations.

old europe will probably be kept in the dark, (and it is about time). surprise may be an element that they will need, without CNN giving advance notice of where they are coming.

the issue will be "what to do with Irak" (once Sadam is out). I am sure all the neighbors will want to influence whomever they put in power, and there is where it could get really tricky. i don't think is in the best interest of the USA to become the policeman of the middle east (or any other part of the world for that matter.
