i'm thinking there may be just a bit of buyers remorse going on wrt gas guzzler as fuel costs continue to escalate.

that's why it is smart to buy the best mileage vehicle either way.

i just don't like the fact that there is so little emphasis on fuel economy with the vehicles that people really want.

nobody *wants* to spend huge amounts on fuel....but many will do that if they feel that the tradeoff in order to have high fuel efficiency is unacceptable....meaning small, noisy, uncomfortable vehicles.

the current environment reminds me an awful lot of the early 70's when people dumped their gas guzzlers after the oil embargo.

we are hardly there yet, but i feel the trend will turn in that direction.
