MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Russia posted a foreign trade surplus of $41.804 billion in January-November 2002, compared with $45.475 billion in the same period of 2001, the State Statistics Committee reported Friday.

The committee's figures are based on foreign trade indicators calculated by the balance of payments method and include customs statistics on unofficial shuttle trade volumes.

Foreign trade totaled $1149.836 billion in January-November 2002, up 5.9% from $141.509 billion. Exports rose 2.5% from $93.492 billion to $95.820 billion, and imports went up 12.5% from $48.017 billion to $54.016 billion.
