Moviso And Landmat To Launch Location-Based Mobile Services
[January 23, 2003]

Moviso and Landmat announced a deal that will enable online consumer brands to include location-based services in North America. The applications will allow leading consumer brands to deploy services with North American carriers and device manufacturers that let consumers access proximity sensitive content such as online dating, real-estate listings, dining guides and travel services through their mobile phones. Services will begin rolling out in the U.S. in February 2003.

Location-based mobile services use information about the user's current location to deliver relevant, localized content. Analysts estimate that location-based mobile services will generate revenues of over $18.5 billion worldwide in 2006. The pairing of Moviso's mobile media platform and top-tier carrier customers, with Landmat's location-based applications is a natural one that will benefit customers in new ways.

"Location-based mobile services represent a huge opportunity in mobile media, giving consumers relevant content based on their individual locations," said Shawn Conahan, Moviso president. "This relationship adds an important dimension to Moviso's advanced data platform, making us a natural marketing and distribution partner for carriers and media companies looking to take advantage of this exciting new prospect."

New Location-Based Mobile Applications
Location-based mobile services provide consumers with instant information in a particular area ranging from driving directions and weather information to guides for particular cities and restaurant locations. The applications have been successfully deployed with operators including Vodafone, Vodafone Live!, SingTel Sonofon, Airtel (Bharti), Intel and Lufthansa, among others.

Landmat's current list of products include:

DateTrak, a permission-based person-to-person communication application that allows users to anonymously search for other users by matching their search preferences including their current location.

OpenHouse, a real estate listing service that enables users to access apartment rental, new home and MLS listings as well as communicate with brokers.

StarTrak, which provides personalized astrology and games based on date of birth.

PalTrak, a virtual community application, which enables users to track and chat with friends, family and any virtual community.

Time Out City Guides, a location-based service allowing users to detect local listings and attractions available in their vicinity.

TravelTrak, an application that enables operators to deliver location-based travel content to the user.
