I agree. But would Lincoln agree? What about Roosevelt, or even Washington, not to mention Sharon...?

It's tough to make a wise and thoughful decision when you can't fully appreciate what war is like...

SS,
I doubt you really believe we have not had a good presidential decision since the 60s?

I agree experience is an awesome teacher. I also believe that the experience can come from those one selects as advisors and staff members. Certainly our history has demonstrated that.

Fortunately we now have a very strong team with extensive experience at every level.

Many if not most of the posters here seem to be convinced that war is presently inevitable and are in a panic over it. That sells our leadership team short.

I believe GWB and the team have placed themselves and us in a position of enormous strength and one from which they can exercise unlimited options. Simultaneously, they have severely restricted the options of our opponents.

Miyamoto Musashi would be every pleased. So am I.

This is currently all about the defense of the USA and the UK...The discussion about France and Germany is nearly irrelevant imo. Germany and France simply do not yet feel the current threat. When they perceive themselves to be in a similar predicament to us, they will come running to play on our team. Years ago, the Baader-Meinhof gang and the Red Brigade members proved that.

We too have often passed on participating in actions that we did not think were directly related to our security. Italy and Spain are in because of their continuing long term unresolved problem with terrorists.

As always everyone votes their own personal interest...why does that surprise so many folks here?
