Hi cosmic,

"Sorry, I don't know what came over me. I'm okay now. <Straighten tie, unmuss shirt>... ""

<GG> And that's okay with me too, I understand as I do not have a problem with a little fun between two consenting adults. I am not like so many on the other side that would rather "Make War than Love" <g>.. But in the long run, I bet they would have rather had our choices.. But anyway

I will move on and talk about "Political Correctness". IMO, there is nothing wrong with PC. Why? Because it shows RESPECT..

But first a comment about RESPECT. (BTW, A word I got flamed unmercifully by the "unmetionables", ("the untouchables" <g>)) when I tried to defend women.. (One that eventually got permanently suspended here by being "goaded", "baited" by those unmetionables until she said something that got her permanently suspended from SI). Nothing worse, actually less than what I have heard from the "little three-letter punk" and his cohorts here. ..

But on to PC =RESPECT.. It was borne in the 60s, 70s whenever, when many people realized that it was not right, not moral, not CIVILIZED etc.. to make fun, light of, by a dominant group of people at the other's expense. Whether that be ethnic, mental, sexual , social, whatever.. Because WE ALL SHOULD RESPECT each other, because ALL of us contribute in our own way to society.

But if we regress and trash this "understanding of others", it desensitizes people to their plight, (not unlike excessive violence in our "arts" desensitizes us to brutality and killing) and they become a victim once again:

Rather than a contributor...JMO

Take care,

m

Well, just see that you don't let it happen again.

This is a respectable chat room, you know.
