I don't think any of their troubles would be solved by lowering prices either. There are fundamental problems, not solved by easy solutions... like tax cuts.

My mom travels extensively and said, considering how full the planes were, she was surprised the airlines are going under. Then she said that she noticed that the quality of the people in the security lines was much higher than before - probably being paid a lot more than the old minimum wage people they used to have. Someone is paying for this and it AIN'T Uncle Sam. It is the airlines. Plus, now oil prices are going up due to tensions in the Gulf. We're gonna need more than tax cuts and a war to reverse the economy.

Now K-mart, sheesh. It has been in a death spiral for 20 years.
