Right now the problem is failure to intervene, not over-institutionalization. We have too many people who need supervised care roaming the streets, sleeping on grates, not taking their anti- psychotic medication, and so forth......

I have no faith in the integrity of judges or the courts. I do maintain an inkling of hope in humanity. It is for this reason that I view society and its government(s) (ideally) as an extension of the heart of humanity. Where there is a lack of consciousness in government, there is a rip in the tapestry of humanity. Where it can only be viewed as a separate entity, it must also be viewed as a hostile adversary. The distance from the members of its society (whether in physical space or in consciousness) that any governing body resides is equal to its conflicts with the individuals represented by that government.

Respect for the privacy of the members of society should never be in conflict with the governing body. That does not necessarily equate to "less government" as much as it does to a more representative government.
