Ahh, the fear factor. Better to bury ones head in the sand then to act, if in the course of acting, your enemies may rise up against you. As if they'll just stay dormant and never attack if we go idly by. Look at Israel, they backed off of Lebanon and the Palestinians believed and even now believe that if you push the west hard enough they'll cave in because they fear death.

People who let their fear of action, control their destiny are failed to become the greatest allies of those evil doer's who look to that weakness as a sign of victory.

Now is not the time for Chamberlains, we need Churchill's, and Roosevelts on our side, while looking for Sadat's on the other side.

<<...Al Jazera will publicize the human carnage of the US attack to the entire Arab world all day, every day, and much of the non-Arab world as well. Control of US reportage won't help. The inevitable result will be immediate and massive recruiting of suicide bombers for domestic attacks on US citizens. Rumsfeld let the cat out of the bag and called these "undeterrables", meaning simply that they cannot be deterred by massive attacks as are being planned for Iraq.

The result is clear: the planned Iraqi attacks could not be better designed to create domestic political chaos in the US...>>

MSI: You may be right...The UNintended consequences of a 'pre-emptive strike' against Iraq could be huge...Folks in Congress are still coming to grips with that...Its definately possible we could spend over $100 Billion U.S. taxpayer dollars on an invasion of Iraq and still not be any safer at the end of the day...Did you notice how some top Republican leaders in Congress have warned Bush that the Congressional support for War is not as strong as it was...Folks like The highly regarded Chuck Hagel (former war hero and Republican Senior Senator) has warned against going into Iraq now without broad support from the U.S. public and our Allies...Hagel wants to work with the U.N. and is one of the few in Washington who truly understands what war can be like.
