Very well said XYZ, I too believe there are far better courses of action to pursue if our goals are truly humanitarian. Clearly they aren't, and most of the world already perceives us as bullies - blowing up Iraq sure ain't gonna win their hearts and minds.

I believe that there is a lot more to Iraq than what we see. And I don't think that it is the oil. If we made a move on the oil, I believe that most supporters that Bush has will desert him. And I am sure that he knows that. As far as "what about Osama and his lieutenants", haven't you been noticing that cells are being exposed on a nearly weekly basis. The latest being one in Spain. And prior to that, in England where they found Ricin. The war against Al Qaeda is a more quiet war now. It is about infiltration and intelligence. Personally, I think that we have OBL. I don't approve of all of the U.S.'s foreign policies, but I believe that many (most) of the world doesn't hold other countries accountable for their own participation in the relationship with the U.S. I view most of those countries who are whining about how bad the U.S. is, as having buyer's/seller's regret after realizing that they could have negotiated a different more beneficial business deal. So instead of taking responsibility for their end of the deal, they take the victim role...big bad Americans exploiting the poor little Arabs for their oil....cry me a fucking river. And I do think that there is a different answer than outright war, but I think that most would resist it more than a war. And that is that we would start from zero again with international trade. Basically go to each country and say "ok, these are the terms of doing business with the U.S., do you accept or not?" If they accept, great, they can quit their fucking whining. If they don't accept, then cut them off completely. No trade, no foreign aid, no visiting the U.S., no sending their kids to our schools and certainly no intervention in their private affairs. But then, if they fuck with us, the answer is quite simple and definitive. Time to make the world relationships real black and white, cut out all this gray crap that causes so many misunderstandings.
