They are in general (newsletter writers who pump) and the temptation is strong. I found that I could advance a stock, simply by writing about it. I rarely if ever took long positions in stocks before commentation. There is nothing wrong however with putting your money where your mouth is, if you are sincere.

If you are just trying to get money out of paper, then it is bad. Where do you decide this? It is impossible to tell except in the more obvious cases. All the plays I wrote about had a life of their own and where discovery based. I did not drill the holes.

A lot of people accuse me of pumping Gitennes, Bre-X and KRY. I held Gitennes and KRY, no Bre-X at any time. I lost money on KRY. Nobody told me when the decision was coming down. The court skunked everyone. In retrospect it was unwise to gamble on 50-50.
