>> How about a test of 55 XAU and 93 HUI for starters <<

For starters? So you see more downside possible than that?

Dang, you elliot wavers sure are a bearish bunch.

Seems like both you and Slider should be shorting gold stocks here if the risk/reward is that good.

Staying long. It will take at the minimum a break of the 20 ema on the HUI before I reduce positions.

FWIW, this past friday was the highest close we've had yet on the HUI. All the others were intraday highs.

Look back to all the resistance on the HUI chart over the last year around 138-140. It's no wonder we didn't take out 154 the first time. If this next test fails then I will become more bearish as well. Until then going with the trend.

I concede that your targets for the HUI and XAU are possible, but very unlikely here.

bert, re the S&P!!!

This pattern looks increasingly bearish....with the FTSE making new lows I would expect the S&P and DOW not to be too far behind. Indicators went more bearish last week. Wait till the end of the month..

The GEN Market was confirmed decidedly bearish, again, when the McClellan Oss fell through zero and the Summation rolled over...this took place last Friday...I posted this same chart then….
stockcharts.com

Am I looking at the same charts....do I have them upside down or something....GOLD and the shares are going higher, those who said they would fall (either sooner or later) are forecasting the same again this week, as are those who forecast the opposite- Sinclair and Murphy. I'll stick with those that have been right for the time being..

The Dollar is dreadfully weak. Even groups that you'd think would be strong in the GEN market like the E&Ps are having difficulty holding even.....sure one of these weeks they'll be a momentary change of trend, but I'm trying to keep focused on the bigger picture, and that doesn't have much to do with picking bottoms in the dollar or stocks.

Good luck to you though I have a couple of GEN market issues I'd like to sell ….
