A lot of things are going up:

23% Social Security (one of the worst examples of bureaucracy)
21% Health (another example of bureaucracy)
16% Defense (your pet peeve)
14% Income Security
10% Interest
4% Education and Training
3% Transportation
3% Veterans
6% All other

So I'm sure you'll understand why I'm not enthusiastic about 44% of my taxes going toward two of the biggest examples of government bureaucracy and waste. In comparison, 16% going to defense is a bargain.

Your record on predicting elections leaves much room for improvement. ;-)
