I think your first assumption may be correct. We could be in a basing period. Unfortunately the breaking of those necklines on Friday does not make that likely. We are going to need a lot of good news this week or we will be headed for new lows in this bear market in 2003 in my opinion.

As for your second assumption that BEAS and NXTL will be leaders in the next bull market? Well maybe. I just don't know.

As for your third assumption that there might not be any semiconductors that will be leaders in the market from here I would say I found no fewer than 27 stocks that were at least twice as high as their October lows.

BEAS NXTL AFCO AGRa AMKR AMTA ARTI ARXX ASYT BELM CREE CYMI ENTG GNSS LSCC MIPS NANO OAKT OVTI PLXT PMCS QSND RMBS SIMG SWKS VSEA WFR

The charts don't generally look as good as BEAS and NXTL but my point is when we do enter a bull market there will be plenty of semiconductors that do well. Many will be market leaders though not necessarily any of those on this list. So I think the last assumption is wrong. I'm just not as sure as Cary is which stocks will lead the next bull market in semiconductors.
