Well Len I see you just got the boot from Hawkmoon. So I decided to repost my response to somewhere you can still reply - I think. siliconinvestor.com Yes, I'm at a disadvantage of relying on you to identify truthfully those from whom your European land preserve was stolen. You previously named the Yamhella, Tillamook, Chinook. Some of the Tillamook were relocated to and are part of the confederated tribes of Siletz. The rest along with the Yamhella were relocated to and are part of the confederated tribes of Grand Ronde. Whichever group are the proper owners of your land I can't tell from here. But nothing is stopping you from returning your stolen land to its proper owners. Those relocated to Grand Ronde eventually had everything taken from them but a five acre cemetary. The Trail took still another bad turn in 1954, when Congress passed the Termination Act, severing the trust relationship between the federal government and many western tribes, including the Grand Ronde. With this Act, the more than 100-year history of the Tribe was obliterated by the stroke of a pen. In the 30 years following that dark aid misguided deed, the Grand Ronde Tribe became a virtually land less people in their own country. .... They had a long way to go-what once had been a reservation covering more than 100 square miles, had over the years been reduced to a mere 5 acres, approximately, the plot of land that contained the historic tribal cemetery. grandronde.org This doesn't all sound like ancient history. It seems the process of disinheritance has continued into the last half century and has only very recently start to turn around a little. BTW they have a land acquisition program and a modern timber operation: The Tribal Lands Department maintains a database for all Tribal land purchases. This Department also conducts initial site assessments and performs property appraisals for land the Tribe may consider purchasing. The Tribal Lands Department also manages various Tribal properties.
