Even in inflation adjusted dollars federal revenue grew faster under Carter than Reagan: 3% to 2.4%

Especially in inflation adjusted dollars you see how poorly revenue performed under Reagan. Federal revenue went down for two years in a row ('82 and '83) and took until 1985 to get back to where it had been before the tax cut: 1981
