Wily, interesting post, as always. I think in a way you've highlighted three choices a DMX investor has to make here.

One, come up with fresh cash to exercise your rights. In this case there does not seem to be much of a rush to do it early. Just as long as it is done in a timely fashion to avoid last minute glitches in the transaction.

Two, sell your rights. I understand this can be done, but I'm not sure how, especially with a discount broker. The value of these rights to the purchaser would be at the least one-quarter to the strike price, perhaps with a further discount thrown in for protection in case the market price drops below the strike. If a big whopper NR comes then it would seem the value of the rights would track the market price of the stock.

Three, if an investor does not want to put new cash into the stock, they could proceed as you suggested and sell shares when they are at a premium to the strike price, and use the profit to exercise the rights at $2. With this strategy timing is very important otherwise your gambling that the bw NR does not come while your in cash. I'd say that you'd want the rights in hand when you sold you're shares so that you could immediately exercise them. (I wouldn't mind exercising a few rights around this household of mine, but that's another story).

All the best, and no, you won't be shot this time.

Actually, I think we're all on the Firing Line if this investment doesn't pan out.

Are you in Canada? I don't think I can exercise my rights from the US.

My broker Penntrade is looking into this but I am not getting very far.

Great stuff Wily. It's certainly gotten interesting.

I suppose a few real gamblers might also buy a bunch
of rights when they're pennies if the exercise period
has some room. My guess is that window will be 6 weeks.

Good luck everybody.
