Yes and no. I believe that Fleisher and the anonymous White House "sources" were referring to the newest additions to NATO like Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary etc. Re: Once they were communists, I believe. Last week, a ews anchor mentioned that those countries around Afghanistan supported the war. That's right. The heads of Turkmenistan and Kazakstan were Soviet strongmen.
