a lot of them in Engineering, and science. My couson's son (from Taiwan) just graduated from UW Madison (MS in EE) a couple of years ago, paid every penny of the tuition out of his (father) own pocket, and then got a job in Intel (Portland, Oregon). There are >6,000 under- and graduate students from East, and Southeast Asia in UW Madison, and 95% of them are paying tuition themselves. Not necessary they all come from rich families, I guess some of Asian families have to sell their house in order to support one child coming to the US for a graduate degree.

BTW, an in-state graduate student only pays $160 or so for 1 credit hour, compared to $900 out-of-state student.
