<You make a perfectly convincing armchair imperialist.>

Ray, you missed the edits [now complete]. It's great being an imperialist these days. It used to take ages to send a sailing ship around the aptly-named Cape of Good Hope to China, then another age to get the message back that they didn't want to buy British opium and were considered Boxing us. Then, another age to wait for a decision by the bureaucrats to send some gunboats. Then, more time to get them together. Then, another age to send them out to China to sort out Jay's stroppy ancestors.

Hopeless.

Now, we can armchair it all right here in cyberspace. Heck, we could launch Tomahawks from here in SI, working shifts. We'd have instant feedback on the results. We could drive the Predators here and there and so on. All very quick. Real-time video running in the corner of the screen.

If Jay gets stroppy now, we can have some hardware overhead in minutes. If he refuses to buy cdma2000 phragmented photon cyberphones, his credit cards can be decommissioned immediately. But he won't be resisting. He'll be supervising Predators over Mugabe, ensuring his interests there are not converted back to African jungle.

There's a lot of employment and investment opportunity in the United States of Freedom.

Jay could be supervisor of Trinidad/Tobago, Hong Kong and associate supervisor of Shanghai. Any place you'd like to look after?
