I think that Bush is counting on the American psyche to be in a state similar to that of a braindead fish.

A pity that you do your best to mimic said fish.

Re: he is resting on the "you are either with us or against us", simplistic positioning of ideas. Perhaps this position is Bush's way to keep things within his focus ability.

In Mein Kampf Hitler posited the view that a stark Manichean choice between good and evil, black and white is the best way for the propagandist to approach the general electorate who are intolerant of complexity and nuance. Jorg and George are both guilty of this same over-simplification. In Jorg's case, it appears to be self-delusion. In George's case it is clearly intended as a deception of the American public and control of the national agenda on utterly false pretenses.

Re: We talked about this recently and I am driven to side with you on the issue......Bin Ladin may well be working for the covert US shadow gov't.

I'll send you your propeller hat right away....... We've been reviewing the curious record of the business interties between the Bin Laden family and the Bushes lately. That and the very curious way that the Bin Ladens were spirited out of the U.S. in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 ought to be a huge red flag to thinking Americans (sorry, Jorg, don't give it a second thought.).

Re: We are not pursuing all the training camps that are currently operating in Afghanistan..............this is an outrage!!!!! Instead our gov't has chosen to attack Iraq.

Pat, it's not an outrage, it's business as usual. <g> Did you hear that the CIA apparently handed out about $70 Million in cash to the Afghani warlords in the fall of 2001 in order to secure their loyalty? Do you think there is hope I could get bought off? I'd work cheap.

So far he sure hasn't been disappointed.

Here's a darn good review of the latest fawning paeans of praise to the powerful. As you may know, Bob Woodward was awarded the "Corporate Media Whore of the Year" award recently for his brown-nosed "Bush At War" tome. Here's a civilized discussion of why Woodward so richly deserved the prize:
