Patricia, AVG is not a registry cleaner, just an AV program. I also use the 'uninstall' provided with the program before trying add/remove. Regardless of which I use, often I get a reminder that 'not all components were removed'.

I have Norton Systemworks which has a register cleaner function.. Once I week I get one or two that needs to be fixed and it does the job automatically..
