Thanks, Huey. I was beginning to wonder if my post would provoke any response at all. I've been in cash as well. I see no compelling values, and if you saw my remarks on January 1, I'm still quite bearish.

The option overhang is present in too many places. Add pension plan underfunding as another overhang. We make too little of the international investor here. As our markets slide, and as/if our dollar slides, those investors lose twice. To your list I would add concern about consumer's staying power. Business purchasing is not climbing, earnings pressure is still turned on, and unemployment numbers are probably headed higher. Business loan rates are probably historically attractive, but there's little incentive to water at that trough while final demand is low.

You speak of intrinsic values...they look like moving targets to me, but I'm sure we'd all be interested in what you have in mind for some of our favorites.
