India already has a staggering 520,000 IT engineers

This is no lie. I've been contacted by an Indian software engineer who was willing to do contract coding for me for $5/hour. $5/hour. Unbelievable.

We are not losing jobs because our colleges may be dumbing down.

Really, then tell me why in this big country, we can't turn out enough engineers and accountants, because we are so smart and know the value of Bs degree in literature, while we are driving a cab. .

What makes this trend so viable is the explosion of college graduates in low-wage nations. In the Philippines, a country of 75 million that churns out 380,000 college grads each year, there's an oversupply of accountants trained in U.S. accounting standards. India already has a staggering 520,000 IT engineers, with starting salaries of around $5,000. U.S. schools produce only 35,000 mechanical engineers a year; China graduates twice as many. "There is a tremendous pool of well-trained people in China," says Johan A. van Splunter, Philips' Asia chief executive.

Damn, you guys are funny..........and you think you are all so smart.

A little info.......we are turning out more than enough engineers etc. The problem is Amer. engineers want 50k coming out of school; the Indians are happy with 20k......you do the math.
