Wayne:

I think on this particular issue the general public has it wrong. If you were the president of McDonald's and I came to you and said boss I have a great idea. Let's make our coffee so hot that it will burn our customer's mouths and give them 3rd degree burns if they spill some. It will be great we will transfer the coffee through our drive through windows, knowing that the customer has to open the coffee, which by the way we will put in a flimsy container, to put in cream or sugar and knowing that the coffee may be passed around in the car and knowing that it may be handled by young children and fully expecting that the coffee will be consumed while the car is moving.

Boss Reply can only be one thing. Are you nuts???

Wayne I think the point that is being missed is not that the coffee is hot, but that it is deliberately made scalding hot, so hot in fact that it can cause third degree burns. I can't see how anyone can say McDonalds is not responsible for this.
