I've had stripers that tasted good and not so good out of the same lake. When they feed in gizzard shad they're much better than when they feed on threadfin shad. The best eating are the pure white bass that run one to two pounds. It's important to remove the red meat before cooking any of the three varieties as that is where the strong taste comes from.

Bill, and I'm asking if it's ok to call you that, we were supposed to get freezing rain starting at noon. The salt trucks were working but it's still dry at 6:30. It's still getting warmer also and that's odd.
