"Most massive attack" would have to be the ww2 Eastern Front sometime. Either Hitler's invasion with 1.8M men, 3,5K tanks, 3K aircraft, or possibly Russians takeover of Berlin 4 years later. Russians sustained 300K casualties in taking Berlin, and that was at the end of the war when the Germans were all but done!
