We should keep in mind that 9/11 was not the final act of Al Qaida. The war had been going on for the last ten years, too bad so many people (me included) in this country were blind to it. They'd love to pull off something big, like detonate a nuke on a barge in NY harbor, or something along those lines. To accomplish something big like that they need an industrial complex to aid them. I don't think Saddam Hussein has expansionist designs, but I wouldn't put it past him to sell Al Qaida what they need to do something dramatic.

This post makes that point very effectively, imo.
