Thanks for the articles. Yeah, in terms of the Internet arena, China will for sure surpass the US in the near future. but in Technology in general, China still have a long way to catch up. But it is on the right track. China has a great wealth of brainpower and a large dedicated group of scientists who are selfless and do not think money is everything in the world.

Now about the North Korea card:

1) I think Bush is completely geopolitical ignorant to ever include North Korea in the so-called "axis of Evil". An experienced politician would never have done that. This claim of his has put his own administration and the reputation of the US gov. in general (it was not great anyway) in a Very awkward position.

2) I do not think China has ever supported North Korea to go nuclear power, as the US claimed, because that is not in China’s national interest. North Korea has a history not to listen to what China said. Proof? Before North Korea “invaded” South Korea in early 1950, it did consult China, and China told Kim it was a bad idea, but Kim did it anyway, and then China had no choice but had to be involved and the war got a lot of Chinese soldiers killed. Another proof, in 1976 (?) or so, a vice Premier from the South Korea and his delegation got assassinated in Thailand. Before the action, North Korea informed China, and China disapproved, but North K. did it anyway. So China would never, intentionally, give Nuclear weapons to this kind of “crazy” regime, period.

If North Korea does have nuclear weapon, it does it on its own, or it obtained from other countries, I don’t think China was the one who provide them the nuclear technology/material.

As for the current round of conflict, that article totally forget the FACT that it was Bush who invented “axis of evil” FIRST, and this current round of North Korea problem followed. If there were no “axis of evil” claim, then North Korea would never have felt to be threaten to this degree.

Although I agree some of those have happened are in China’s interest, there is NO ANY evidence for what the author claimed. They are just some unproved hypothesis of the author.
