But it perfectly describes the type of people who would parade around the streets of America and protest our great nation's resolve to topple Saddam Hussein. As I watch news coverage of these American-hating protesters, I'm filled with total and complete contempt for them. Have they already forgotten the events of 9/11? Are the images of men and women jumping to their deaths from the Twin Towers already gone? Do they REALLY believe the liberal slant in the news media that has attempted to split apart the issue of Saddam and terrorists, as if that one issue is actually two? When these scoundrels march around with their pitiful picket signs lambasting our president, I'm reminded of stories of brave and noble men returning from Vietnam only to be spat upon and called "baby killers." Has nothing been learned from that kind of American history? Saddam Hussein's son, a man with powerful influence in Baghdad, said that the United States will learn that "the events of 9/11 will be a joke" if we invade their country and disarm his bloodthirsty tyrant of a father. We should pay close attention to him. Because he certainly means it. As President Bush has been trying to tell us, the Iraqi regime is one that is capable of horrific acts of violence against those it opposes. We are at the top of that list. And even a school kid can understand the concept of Iraq selling weapons of mass destruction to evildoers who would come across our borders and destroy innocent lives. We are in a battle for our country's very soul. Sadly, the fight takes place on at least two fronts: with our enemies from the Middle East and our enemies who call themselves American citizens and are protesting the impending war with Iraq. May we have the strength and courage to destroy the maggots who would kill us if they have the chance. And simply ignore the ones who have taken to the street to protest. Maybe without the glare of the media spotlight to feed them, the American maggots will just dry up and go away.
